I found Balance Chicago in November 2018 after three months of suffering a 76% loss of function in my left ear caused by Vestibular Neuritis. My days at that time were physically dizzy and unbalanced, and mentally frustrating and exhausting. At that point I had seen a number if medical professionals and already completed two months of physical therapy, and not received much relief. Most doctors had nothing for me and other than anxiety and depression medications, which in fact made me more dizzy and anxious than I was without them. Of course, this was not my final answer. The couple of doctors that were helpful encouraged me to keep moving and referred me to another specialist. In between those appointments, I went to a support group meeting at Balance Chicago. It was there that I first heard the words, "we can help you." I literally cried and within a few days had my first appointment and started VRT (Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy). It wasn't an easy journey and during my six months of VRT, the staff worked with me each step. Helping me through moments of frustration and tears, encouraging me, and celebrating the breakthrough moment with me. Iafter two years, I have not yet gained back all of the function in my left ear. But I last tested at 90%. I still have varied levels of feeling unbalanced and dizzy, but through my work at Balance Chicago, I gained confidence and in my ability to get around on my own and adapt to my new or current "normal." I am a strong independent person living and functioning to my fullest with and despite having a Vestibular Disorder known as PPPD.
Don't give up. Hope is always there.
Thank you, Balance Chicago for being a big part of my journey in hope.
Balance Chicago Patient
I had an amazing time working with the team at Balance Chicago. I was treated with the utmost respect, and I always felt like the top priority with the physical therapist I was with that day. The team and I developed a good camaraderie, and I highly recommend that anyone in need of physical therapy go to Balance Chicago to have their work done. In my seven years of dealing with my back issues from football and going to physical therapy, chiropractors, and doctors, only Balance Chicago has managed to give me a more thorough understanding of what is causing me pain, how to relieve it, and actually helped me feel a lot more confident and a lot less pain in my back. The team truly is incredible, and even when facing issues with finances, I was able to receive help from the dutiful workers upfront. Truly, Balance Chicago is the best physical therapy clinic I have ever attended.
Balance Chicago Patient
I had such a positive experience at Balance Chicago. I went in with lower back pain that has been on and off for several years. This was my first time doing PT so I didn't quite know what to expect. The atmosphere is super friendly and open to changing different exercises if they weren't working for me. After going for a couple of months I finally "graduated" and they gave me the tools I needed to continue my therapy at home. I worked with Clayton and Maria regularly and they are just the best! I honestly miss going just to hang out with those two. I would recommend Balance Chicago to anyone who is in need of physical therapy.
